Forage Sample Shipping Information
CVAS provides forage sample bags and shipping materials at no charge which can be order using the "Order Supplies" menu item to the right. The forage sample bags that we provide have a form affixed that provides the user the opportunity to identify the sample and request services without additional paperwork. For those that wish to submit multiple samples or have need for more room for descriptions, a traditional "Sample Submittal Form" can be used (click here to view/download).
Local customers are welcome to drop off samples at any of our lab facilities where drop boxes are available for samples delivered after normal business hours.
For the benefit of our customers, we offer a number of shipping options which are detailed below.
Note that UPS is our preferred shipper. We are able to provide you with excellent shipping rates that allow customers to ship any weight of samples to us, overnight from anywhere in the U.S. for $25.00 (price subject to change based). U.S. Mail: Priority Mail Merchandise Return Labels
These labels allow the user to priority mail samples from anywhere in the USA without needing to weigh the package or pay for the package at the point of origin. We are billed by the Post Office for the packages on a weight basis and we in turn will bill you for these charges at standard priority mail rates. Packages ship for $4.50 or more depending on weight.
We recommend that you obtain the red, white, and blue priority mailbags from the Post Office to use with these labels. The bags are free for the asking, and the Post Office tends to handle these bags more efficiently than other types of packages.
United Parcel Service (UPS) Options
We offer UPS Authorized Return Service labels for your use. When these labels are affixed to a package, any UPS driver, facility, or pick-up point is able to accept these packages without additional paperwork or payment. UPS bills us at a flat rate for each package regardless of weight, and we bill these charges back to you. The current shipping rates are as follows:
UPS Ground Service - $ 6.50 per package
UPS Next Day Air Service - $25.00 per package
UPS 2ndDay Air Service - $18.50 per package
The UPS next day air service may be your best shipping option if you are located in the western states and have a number of samples to ship at one time. Shipping Bags Available
CVAS provides poly shipping bags for shipping samples. These work ideal for shipping samples by UPS, and can be used for U.S. Mail shipping as well. Two sizes are available: 12" x 15.5" and 19" x 24". Due to the high cost of these shipping bags we will need to start charging as of July 1, 2009. The cost of the smaller poly bag is $.25 and the $.70 for the larger size bag.
