FOWLER, CA LOCATION UPDATE - the drop box has been moved next to the propane tank during the exterior remodel at this location (image below).
Drop boxes are available for forage, feed, water and manure samples. There are 13 drop box locations starting at LG Seeds in Stockton, CA (Location 1) and heading south to J&R Dairy in Bakersfield, CA (Location 13).
Samples left at locations 1-12 are picked up Monday through Friday. Samples left at J&R Dairy in Bakersville are picked up on Thursdays only (For J&R Dairy, please place samples in the brown refrigerator accessed through the back door on the scale house). There is no pickup on holidays when the lab is not in operation. See HERE for a list of holiday closings.
All samples are shipped overnight to our Waynesboro, PA lab for processing. There is a $3.00 per sample handling fee for utilizing a drop box.
Be aware of pick up times for locations. Note that there are two routes: Locations 1-10 and Locations 11-13.
USING THE DROP BOX
When dropping off samples, please send a text message to the number on the top of the drop box with the location, account name, and number of samples dropped. This information will assist us in planning the pick-up on any given day. If necessary, drivers may skip boxes if we do not receive a text due to traffic backups or weather issues.
Results for NIR analysis should be available the next business day, following drop off. Sample bags and testing information is available at each drop location. Supplies may also be requested by emailing mail@foragelab.com.
Please be respectful of the businesses that have given permission for us to place drop boxes at their locations. Thank them for that privilege if you have opportunity.
