Drop boxes are available for forage, feed, water and manure samples. There are 15 drop box locations starting at Dansville Water Systems in Dansville, NY and heading to the Finger Lakes Livestock Exchange in Canandaigua, NY.
Samples left at these locations are picked up after 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday nights. There is no pickup on holidays when the lab is not in operation. See HERE for a list of holiday closings.
All samples are taken to our Batavia, NY lab for processing. For Western NY, refer to our corresponding drop box location listings. There is a $3.00 handling fee per sample for utilizing a drop box.
USING THE DROP BOX
When dropping off samples, please send a text message to the number on the top of the drop box with the location, account name or number, and number of samples dropped. This information will assist us in planning the pick-up on any given day. If necessary, drivers may skip boxes if we do not receive a text due to traffic backups or weather issues.
Results for NIR analysis should be available the next business day, following drop off. Sample bags and testing information is available at each drop location. Supplies may also be requested by emailing mail@foragelab.com.
Please be respectful of the businesses that have given permission for us to place drop boxes at their locations. Thank them for that privilege if you have opportunity.
